The Halo Group is the proud production partner to Backyard Cinema, London's favourite themed pop-up cinema. In the summer of 2017 we continued our collaboration with the organisers on an exciting venue styling and set design brief entitled "Lost World".
For the Lost World series, our brief was to create a jungle set within the space. Using various venue styling techniques our multi award winning production team set about transforming the venue into a sub-tropical prehistoric playground. This immersive experience really ignited peoples’ imaginations. Guests became intrepid explorers for the night, embarking on their quest to find their very own holy grail, a much coveted seat within the main auditorium where the screening would later take place.
To achieve the end result we created a custom fascia with scenic rock finishes and Aztec style temple features. This was dressed with rich tropical foliage to give texture and an ultra realistic look and feel. Think Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and you get the idea! Once guests had passed through the ominous jungle archway their journey continued, winding through an overgrown jungle path. Coloured lighting was used to bathe the space to create eerie atmosphere. Once through the jungle, guests had to use a rope to swing to safety and enter the screening room. Once inside, the jungle set and venue styling continued with a selection of props included an oversized skull which formed an imposing focal point within the space. Our production team continued this design throughout the room to create a fully immersive experience.
