The Halo Group worked on a scenic design project for The BBC. The Halo Group re-styled the broadcasters Radio 6 studios in both London and Manchester, transforming the space into an industrial inspired loft apartment. The project utilised our in-house art department to create the effect.
In this shot, you can see the same space after our scenic design installation was complete. Our brief was to update the space to bring the look and feel up to date and to provide a stylish backdrop to BBC 6 Music’s online broadcast and live Lounge Sessions. The aim was also to make the space more appealing to the many world renowned musical artists who have since and continue to, grace the studios with their recording sessions.
Our concept saw the complete transformation of two separate spaces using a range of scenic design techniques to recreate the look and feel of an industrial New York style apartment, complete with exposed brickwork detail on the walls, aged metal features, Edison bulbs and complementary furnishings. We have previously worked with the broadcaster delivering set build designs for the BBC Music Tepee at Glastonbury in 2014, 2015 & 2016 as well as providing further styling and production for BBC Introducing at their Hyde Park event. Our partnership was further reinforced through this exciting project. This project also marked our transition as a business from set design and scenic design to the commercial interior design sector.
