The Brief

The animated classic was split into 3 different sequences and screened across multiple rooms spanning 5,000 square feet and featured a 10-metre wide curved screen made up of 300 LED panels so that visitors truly felt as though their flying beside the character. Each sequence was set in a different immersive environment, styled and inspired by iconic scenes from the film including the “family home”, “walking in the air” and “snowman’s party” scenes. The Halo Group designed and installed each of these scenery construction themes for the activation.

The Solution

To achieve the end result we used a wide range of scenery construction techniques to dress each of the three spaces including scenery flats, the creation of large backdrops featuring artwork form the original story book, winter foliage dressing, fake snow woodland scenery, creative lighting and a wide range of specially fabricated props and set pieces throughout the activation. Each screening room was interconnected by themed woodland tunnels to help create the feeling of adventure. Cinema goers were able to enjoy a walk-through experience at the screenings at Winter Wonderland which took place over 45 minutes.
