The Halo Group provided marquee decoration services to BBC Music in a project which reaffirmed our burgeoning collaboration with the Broadcaster. The BBC’s Proms in the Park event was held in Hyde Park on September 12th 2015. Following multiple successful previous projects working for the BBC at Glastonbury and BBC Introducing, this simple marquee decoration brief further built on our partnership.
Our brief was to help capture BBC Music’s strong sense of style, brought to life through creative marquee dressing. The client wanted to carry themes from some of our previous designs for the broadcaster at Glastonbury Festival with living foliage forming the focal point of the design.
To achieve the end result, The Halo Group installed a samba print backdrop wall which formed a striking focal point within the space. This distinctive design was dressed with ivy and floral detail as well as selected props. Styling and marquee dressing continued on the main bar, which was designed and built by The Halo Group’s production team in our London based workshop. Pre-fabricated and constructed onsite, the bar helped create a wow moment within an otherwise standard marquee. The wooden pergola style bar unit was dressed in further living foliage and floral detail with hanging Edison bulbs on pendants to bring an element of creative lighting design with echoes of our previous projects with the BBC at the world famous Glastonbury Festival. Whilst this was a very simple job, The Halo Group takes as much pride in even the most straightforward of briefs as we do with the most complex. As such, we put as much love into this delivery as any. We hope the results speak for themselves.
