The Halo Group specialises in festival design. We built a bespoke temporary structure for Somersby (a Carlsberg UK brand) entitled “Somersby’s Manor” which featured at Download, Wireless and Reading Festivals in the summer of 2016.
A technical solution was required for the brief which saw a two-storey Georgian style manor house constructed on each site which functioned as a festival sponsor bar, with live entertainment and music. The aim of the project was to create a destination area at the event with wow factor and a point of difference. A key part of the brief was to gain height at the festival to create a realistic manor house and create usable space on the upper floor of the structure.
To achieve the end result, we used our modular steel build system to provide the structural framework for the activation. Our temporary event structures are ideally suited to festival activations and allow our production team to create stunning designs that other systems simply can’t replicate. Once constructed, The Halo Group’s festival design team clad the structure in plywood panels to create a blank canvas before applying scenic painting techniques to achieve the finer detail, including ultra-realistic stone textures and authentic architectural features. The activation included two bars, a dance floor, and a slide across two floors, all styled as an on-brand, bespoke manor house. The specially fabricated slide provided a fun twist to the activation which spiraled down from the top floor much to the festival goers’ delight!
