Modular Structures Feature – Video Blog

October 11, 2019

The Halo Group has developed a range of modular structures and a unique steel frame build system which has revolutionised the temporary structure and architectural design & build market. The following blog explores our range of products & services and features video footage from some of our favourite builds.

Our system is unique. Our modular structures can be assembled in many configurations to create bespoke single & multi-level temporary structures for a wide range of uses. We can also design and fabricate solutions based on the individual requirements of a project. Our system can be clad in any material or finish thus making it the most versatile temporary events structure system on the market. Since 2010, we have been developing our kit, offering industry leading products and services to the hire market for exhibitions, sporting events, hospitality projects, festivals, brand activations and more.

Modular Structures

The Halo Group modular build system

In 2018, The Halo Group embarked on a global tour with Formula E, where we designed and built a temporary event structure to house The Formula E Gaming Arena. The deal represented a 3-year hire contract and spanned the Middle East, Asia, North Africa, South America, Europe and the USA. The organisers needed a product which would help them avoid the standard marquee approach which has limitations in terms of design, experience and presentation.

Watch this short video to find out more about how The Halo Group helped the organisers create a world class touring activation across last year’s race calendar.

Modular structures come in many forms and, over 10 years we have established a reputation as a leading structure hire supplier to the events sector, however this is only part of our journey. In the latter years of our system’s development we have been commissioned more and more to create longer term design & build installations such as pop-up food markets, event spaces, venues and more. Our modular steel frame system offers many benefits over traditional construction. Our frames can be disassembled quickly and easily, it can be built by hand in spaces where access for plant is restricted, thus helping reduce construction costs and time on site and because it is modular, we can adapt it to almost any design, space or concept. These versatile qualities have lead to many exciting projects both here in the UK and as far afield as Dubai.

In 2016, we redesigned Camden Market’s 8,000 square foot West Yard food court in a partnership between The Halo Group, Kerb and Camden Market. For this project, The Halo Group was appointed as the principal designer and worked with Kerb to develop a set of street food units optimised for the modern trader. The client needed to bring the market food traders up to date, who were at the time housed in standard gazebo style structures.

Watch this short video to see how The Halo Group revolutionised Camden’s West Yard by creating 32 stunning modern units and in the process helping the continued regeneration of the area.

Through the success of the Camden project and many others we have learned there is a huge retail market for our modular structures. Potential customers include landlords looking for optimised “meanwhile usage” of disused sites, pop-up operators, semi-permanent and longer term projects such as event spaces, restaurants and bars, exhibition stand design companies and even temporary access projects. Demand has been high, however, up until now we have only hired our products. In 2020, The Halo Group is excited to announce that we will be launching a range of purchase, hire purchase & lease options to strategic clients around the world. Our system is easy to construct and use, but don’t take our word for it!
